Understanding how diffuse gliomas evolve
The GLASS Consortium, involving Prof Simone P. Niclou from LIH, aims to characterise diffuse glioma cells both before and after therapy to find out how they change and why this form of malignant brain cancer is so difficult to treat. Initial findings published in Nature in November 2019 provide a foundation for further research and the opportunity for the clinical community to predict the effectiveness of newly developed treatments.

International recognition for Luxembourg allergy research
A team of researchers from the Molecular and Translational Allergology group at the LIH’s Department of Infection and Immunity were recently awarded a series of prizes in recognition of their high-impact research during the 8th International Symposium on Molecular Allergology (ISMA) in Amsterdam and at the Allergy School on Food Allergy in Paris.

Replace – Reduce – Refine in animal experimentation
On 6th November 2019 took place the “First Luxembourg 3R Symposium”, to which LIH actively participated, promoting the 3Rs principles of replacing, reducing and refining the use of animals for research purposes.
