The scientific equipment assistant is responsible for providing the continuous maintenance, support and improvement of the scientific equipment management system.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide support to the scientific equipment supervisor by:
    - Executing and documenting the scientific equipment validation and maintenance.
    -  Managing the maintenance contract including contract ordering process, documents circulation as well as costs control, in collaboration with relevant units
    - Developing and implementing electronic tools (for example automated excel templates) to improve the scientific equipment management system.
  • Ensure proper control and update of the qualification and maintenance schedule for the scientific equipment.
  • Ensure qualification and maintenance visits planning and organization, including the communication with the suppliers as well as the relevant internal staff members.
  • Ensure scientific equipment related documentation, logbooks maintenance,  administration and filling.
  • Organize the shipments and reception of the scientific equipment as necessary
  • Ensure, in collaboration with scientific equipment supervisor, a proper scientific equipment registration, labelling and control over the inventory as well as the equipment decommissioning.
  • Perform other scientific equipment management related tasks, as required.

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in applied science (e.g. biology, biotechnology, chemistry) or administration (Bac +2/3, BTS, DEUG).
  • 2 years’ experience in administrative office work, preferably in regulated and accredited environment.
  • Very good document writing and editing skills with strong focus on details.
  • Proficiency in using computers and general office software with a strong focus on Word and Excel, (e.g.: designing an automated Excel spreadsheets and templates).
  • Good communication skills and ability to listen and read with understanding and propose solutions.
  • Ability to read technical equipment documentation (e.g. user manual, maintenance report) with understanding.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

    Considered as an asset

  • Additional fluency in French and/or German.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements for laboratories.

2-year fixed-term contract- part-time (50%) - Start date: ASAP
